About reviews

As with all of our reviews, whether for this site or for other sites, we like to keep our experiences as close to the experience that you (the user), will have on any given relationships site. As such we never apply to review the site officially or directly with the company that runs or maintains the relationship service concerned. Meaning that we do not start off with a free reviewers account, or any other perks or tweaks that could colour our reviews, but an account just the same as you would have access to when signing up to a site.

We create have created standard “male” and standard “female” persona’s and we always use the same profile blurbs and profile pictures, along with the traits that we have and the traits that we are looking for in a partner on each site that we review.

To test the results of each sites methods, we always use the same ideal “Mr Wright” and “Miss Wright” criteria as to give each site the same set of raw data to work with.

Using these profiles we set a clear time limit for each review, and assess each of the matches that we have either been able to find or have been sent in an email during that time against our ideal profiles set out, the closer the match the better the score.

Along with rating and testing things like the user interface and tools available on each relationship website, we also look at how likely the average user is to actually find a partner using the service.

This is tested against the data that we have collected over the years around the numbers of “hits” an account has and how that number is translated into actual potential partners, and the ability of the system to provide a “match” against a pre defined hypothetical ideal partner.
